What we do

Steer vCIO where decisions are made.

Every year brings CIO-sized decisions. Your TechPilot prepares them and makes them with you, without a full-time CIO.

vCIO advisory with real boardroom weight.

The problem

Big IT decisions, nobody to own them.

Budget without a plan

IT spend grows line by line, and nobody can say what it buys or what’s coming next year.

Risk you can’t put a number on

The insurer, the auditor and a major client all ask about security, and the answers live in someone’s head.

Decisions by sales pitch

Software and contracts get chosen by whoever sold hardest, not by what fits your projects.

On the table

What we bring to your steering meeting.

As a regular meeting or for one decision: either way, you get options, costs and a recommendation.

Steering meeting Agenda
  1. IT roadmap A 12- to 24-month plan tied to your projects, people and growth, and reviewed regularly.
  2. Budget and cost review What you spend, what it buys and where to save or invest, with licences sized to reality.
  3. Risk reporting to management A short risk report in plain language: what’s protected, what’s open and what it costs to close.
  4. Vendor and contract reviews A second opinion on software, telecoms and service contracts before you sign or renew.
  5. IT planning for deals What a merger, carve-out or new entity means for IT, planned before the legal date.

Each item comes with options, costs and a recommendation, and every decision becomes work with an owner and a date.

Who owns it

Your TechPilot, with a seat at the table.

Steer is your TechPilot’s strategic role. The same person who knows your systems in detail brings that knowledge to budget and risk decisions.

Your TechPilot One named senior lead, a specialist team behind
  • Prepares decisions with options, costs and a recommendation
  • Speaks your language, not vendor language
  • Follows through: decisions become work with owners and dates

How you buy it

By time, on the same price list.

Steering work is billed by time from the same price list as everything else. You can book a regular steering meeting or bring us in for one specific decision.

Questions we get

Does Steer replace an in-house IT manager?

For many firms with 30 to 150 people, yes: strategy and decisions come from your TechPilot, daily operations from Manage. If you have an in-house IT person, we work alongside them.

Start

Talk it through.

30 minutes with a senior engineer. Deadlines and risk, not buzzwords. If we’re not the right fit, we’ll say so.

  • No first level
  • No surprises
